4:30am wakeup to say goodbye to andree as she heads back to paris. noticed that time in vancouver was 7:30pm and that wifi signal was good, so called everyone to say a quick "hi"... crap... did i forget father's day?!). called andree too.
i think i went back to sleep, and was cold, which was weird because i was fine when andree was around.
met the guys around 9am and brought them to hotel for breakfast, followed by check-out and transfer over to hostel beautiful just around the corner.
took off to meet catherine and christine at the obelisk in st.peter's square and then headed to the museum where i once again had to pay normal price (vs. student rate) because i was not born in 1983. must remember to bring york student card out (no birthdate on that) took the long route to the sistine chapel through various rooms (including rafael room... although i didn't know until going back a 2nd time), gallery of maps and tapestry room. the sistine chapel itself was huge (well, i guess not but it was filled with people) and adourned with some great artwork. even though there was supposed to be silence and no photography, with a packed room there was not much the swiss guard could do. after more exploring of the museum (with stamp purchase to send postcard to ma and pa from the vatican), everyone went to st. peters whilst i looked around more.other:
- security at our hostel: buzzing in late at night..."it's us... we're here"... and we were let in...
