day 27 - rome

early 7:30a rise for me where i finished off journal entries, wrote postcards, dealt with pic transfer from shot usb key, all by 9:30a or so.


got a daypass for rome metro last night so decided to travel with the guys to the colosseum. they went in, and i sat myself down on the steps/stones that form a low perimeter around the stadium and started reading "the little prince" eventually finishing it at a coffeeshop at termini.


went to get a map of florence so that we attempt to minimize the chance of getting lost there as it looks like we'll be on a pretty tight schedule with car rental. plan is to stay in florence two nights, head to cinque terre for thursday, and friday drive off to venice.


james just asked us where the creation of man painting was because he didn't catch it in the sistine chapel. he didn't take pics because guards saw his huge camera and told him not to. pak showed him pics we took... he sees it now.


tv channel just started a show called, "sex... with mom and dad". poor title. should be "talking about sex with mom and dad".

went to trevis fountain area to get some dinner and found out that cat blogs for work and has mentioned us... must check that.


met christine, kevin and "luigi" at the fountain, then some of us headed back to hostel and asked james questions about his special forces background. very interesting guy.
